Wake Up Call: Buffalo Law Firm’s Office Destroyed in Large Fire

  • The office of Paul William Beltz in Buffalo, N.Y., was destroyed in a fire. Buffalo Fire Battalion Chief Patrick Lalley said firefighters found the fire on the second floor of the building. He said the fire moved quickly from the second floor to the third floor, then to the fourth before making it to the roof. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. (WGRZ)
  • Irwin Mitchell unveiled an all-female partnership promotion round, saying the move is “not surprising” given the firm’s efforts in other areas such as improving family leave policies. All of the 14 newly promoted partners are qualified in England and Wales, and six were trainees at the firm. (RollOnFriday)
  • Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher moved into its new Denver office at the 1900 Lawrence, becoming the newly-constructed building’s first tenant. The firm has held a presence in Denver since 1981 and will occupy the building’s top floor. The move expands the firm’s office space to about 30,621 square feet. (The Denver Post)

  • Monika Calamita joined Quarles & Brady as a partner in its real estate practice group in Phoenix.
  • Kelly Eisenlohr-Moul joined Jackson Lewis as a principal in Chicago.
  • James Reardon joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough as a partner in its litigation practice in Houston. He joins from Porter Hedges.
