- Boies Schiller “bounced back” after suffering through a “tumultuous succession plan” and its highly criticized representations of Harvey Weinstein and the former health tech company Theranos, which led to drops in revenue and head count. The firm reported $248 million in gross revenues in 2023, an 11.8% gain from the previous year. (Law.com)
- Law firm mergers rose in the first quarter of 2024 compared with the same time frame last year, with the midwestern tie-up between Cleveland-based Ulmer & Berne and Greensfelder Hemker & Gale of St. Louis, to create UB Greensfelder, leading the way. - James Fredricks has joined Skadden as a partner with the antitrust and competition group in Washington, D.C. He joins from the Justice Department.
- Scott Browning, Jessica Fuller, and Stephen Steele have joined Husch Blackwell as partners with the commercial litigation and nonprofit organizations and religious institutions practices in Denver. They join from Lewis Roca.
- Mark Grundvig has joined Foley & Lardner as a partner in its antitrust and competition practice group in Washington, D.C. He joins from the Justice Department.
- Joseph Schuster has returned to Ballard Spahr with the business and transactions department and consumer financial services group as a partner in Denver. He joins from Goldman Sachs.
- John Grugan has joined Holland & Knight as a partner in Philadelphia. He joins from Ballard Spahr.
- John Nordlund has joined Littler as a shareholder in its San Diego office. He joins from Jackson Lewis.
- Nili Moghaddam has joined Boies Schiller Flexner as a partner in the Los Angeles and San Francisco offices. She joins from property technology company, Bungalow Living.
- Candace Quinn has joined Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney as a shareholder in the labor and employment section in New York.
- Laura Bagarella has joined Orrick as a partner with the compensation and benefits group in New York. She joins from Cleary Gottlieb.
- Matthew Wochok has joined BakerHostetler as a partner in the tax practice group in the Washington office.
- Mark Rosman has joined Proskauer as a partner in the antitrust practice in Washington, D.C.
