  • Pierre Gentin, chief legal officer of the consulting firm McKinsey & Co., was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as general counsel of the Commerce Department. Before joining McKinsey in 2019, Gentin was a partner at Cahill Gordon & Reindel and served as an assistant US attorney for the Southern District of New York, according to LinkedIn. (Reuters)
  • Douglas Wigdor, the lawyer for basketball player Charles Oakley, is accused of editing the Knicks legend’s autobiography to promote a “false narrative” about his 2017 ejection from Madison Square Garden. MSG’s legal team claims Wigdor altered key details, shifting blame onto security and Knicks owner James Dolan to support Oakley’s lawsuit against the venue. Wigdor denies the claims. (New York Post)
  • The city of Miami hired Shutts & Bowen, a law firm employing former city officials, to defend Commissioner Joe Carollo in a whistleblower lawsuit. Marc Sarnoff, a former city commissioner and current Shutts & Bowen partner, will be part of Carollo’s defense. The firm also employs former Miami City Attorney Victoria Méndez. (Miami Herald)
