- Pillsbury, Hogan Lovells, Husch Blackwell, and Bond, Schoeneck & King collectively raked in about $10 million over the last several years defending University of Kansas basketball and football programs over alleged NCAA infractions. Pillsbury partner William Sullivan, Jr. billed the state school more than $775,500, at as much as $1,000 per hour. (Topeka Capital-Journal)
- Paul Feldberg has left Jenner & Block to join Brown Rudnick in London, to head the firm’s UK white collar defence, investigations and compliance practice. The move continues a recent pattern of senior lateral hires into Brown Rudnick’s Lodnon office, as well as the firm’s recent poach of DC white collar partner Steven Tyrrell from Weil Gotshal. - Stradley Ronon has elected Michael O’Mara as its new managing partner, a promotion made effective Jan. 11. O’Mara is the former chair of the firm’s 70-lawyer litigation department. (Stradley Ronon)
- Charles Noonan, a former Gibson Dunn associate in London, is a contestant in the Australian version of the long-running reality TV hit “Survivor,” called “Australian Survivor: Titans v. Rebels.” A lot of people don’t like lawyers, says Noonan, now a special counsel at Australia’s Maurice Blackburn, until a lawyer saves their, er, bacon. Then, “that lawyer is their favourite person in the whole wide world and that person will be me out here.” (Survivor Wiki)

- Brian P. Waldman has been named firmwide managing partner of ArentFox Schiff.
- Michael Li-Ming Wong has joined Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP as a partner in the litigation department and as co-chair of its national white collar defense group. He most recently served as a partner at Gibson Dunn.
- William F. Dolan has joined FisherBroyles as a partner in the litigation practice in Chicago. He previously practiced at Jones Day.
- Paolo Zamberletti has joined Squire Patton Boggs as a partner in the corporate practice group in Milan. He joins from K&L Gates.
- Stacey Sublett Halliday has joined Arnold & Porter as a partner in the environmental practice in Washington, D.C.
- Dan Roland has rejoined Finnegan LLP as a partner. He joins from the Justice Department.
- Rory Leraris has joined Davis Polk as a partner in the civil litigation practice in New York. She joins from Cravath Swaine & Moore.
- Nicolas Capelli has joined Kramer Levin as a partner with the asset management and investment funds team.
- Dana L. Burch has joined Gordon Rees as a partner with the employment law and labor practice groups in San Francisco.
- Harry Park has joined McCarter & English as a partner with the intellectual property practice group in Washington, D.C.
- David Makso has joined Foley & Lardner as a partner in its taxation practice group in New York. He joins from Paul Hastings.
- Martin Florman has joined Haynes and Boone as an M&A, venture capital, and corporate partner in the Orange County, Calif. He joins from Buchalter.
- Cameron Mitcham has joined Fried Frank as a partner in the finance practice in London.
