- King & Spalding has hired Max Hill KC, the former director of public prosecutions for England and Wales, to work out of the firm’s London office, as just the latest in a string of British prosecutors opting to join Big Law firms. Hill’s predecessor, Alison Saunders, joined Linklaters, and David Green, former director of the UK serious fruad office, was hired by Slaughter and May in 2018 and is now at Cohen & Gresser. - Wiggin and Dana has launched a service to provide outsourced general counsel services to fledgling businesses. The service offers “a full suite of what we call ‘general counsel-type services,’” said Wiggin partner Jack Sousa. “To a company, you get maybe less cost, but also more people.” (Hartford Business Journal)
- Organizers of the Legalweek legal tech conference in New York are facing allegations that this year’s conference was rife with harassment of female attendees. Claims on LinkedIn from Deloitte vice president Deeanna Fleener that 20 of 29 women she heard from had been harassed or assaulted prompted organizers with ALM to respond that they “vehemently” condemned instances of harassment and support “meaningful, positive change” in the legal tech community.
