  • Nearly half of the UK’s largest law firms are US-headquartered. Latham & Watkins and Kirkland & Ellis scored the highest UK revenue totals of US firms last year, followed by White & Case and Baker McKenzie. (The American Lawyer)
  • Ashurst is bumping up salaries for newly qualified London lawyers to £115,000 ($150,000) from £105,000 ($137,000). The move comes after the UK firm boosted the salary floor by nearly 17% last year. (The Lawyer)
  • Spain’s Caixabank group general counsel Ignacio Redondo died in a motorbike accident. The 47-year-old lawyer had worked for the country’s third-largest financial services company for more than a decade. (Iberian Lawyer)
