  • Arnold & Porter is adding six partners from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, to work out of the firm’s Chicago, Denver, and New York offices. The team will bolster Arnold & Porter’s M&A and transactional capabilities, as well as its finance and real estate practices, firm leaders said. (Global Legal Post)
  • Atlanta-founded Alston & Bird’s leader says a key to the success of the AmLaw top 50 firm has been growing locally, through Georgia-based name clients like Coca-Cola Co., Mohawk Industries Inc., MiMedx Group Inc., and Veritiv Corp. “In many ways, our success is simply a reflection of the success that clients in Georgia have experienced within and beyond the state,” said firm chairman Richard Hays.   • Annie Herdman is ready to jump to Paul Weiss from Ropes & Gray, where the London-based antitrust partner worked for the last two years. The hire grows the firm’s London outpost to 20 partners and more than 100 lawyers. (Law.com)
  • Hinckley Allen has merged with a Fort Lauderdale, Florida firm, giving Hinckley a new presence in the state as its seventh office. The tie-up with Ferencik Libanoff Brandt Bustamante & Goldstein, a construction law boutique, adds seven lawyers to the firm. (Hartford Business Journal)

  • Georgiene “Gina” Alsdorf has joined Carlton Fields as a shareholder with the financial services regulatory practice in Washington, D.C. She joins from Lincoln Financial.
  • Jackie Wells has joined McGuireWoods as a counsel with the securities enforcement and regulatory counseling practice. She joins after serving at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
  • James Oussedik has joined Proskauer Rose as a partner with the private investment funds group in London. He joins from Sidley Austin.
  • Michael J. Stegman has joined Frost Brown Todd as a partner in the tax, benefits, and estates practice group in Cincinnati, Ohio. He joins from Kohnen & Patton.
  • Tom Sullivan has been named managing partner of the Boston office of Shook Hardy & Bacon.
  • An eight-person intellectual property team has joined Lathrop GPM in Dallas. The entire team joins from Ferguson Braswell Fraser Kubasta PC.
  • Michael N. Samuels has joined Thompson Hine as a partner in the real estate practice group in the New York office. He joins from Moses Singer.
  • Johanna Schmitt has joined Norton Rose Fulbright as a partner in New York. She joins from Kirkland & Ellis.
  • Michael Silver has joined Husch Blackwell as a partner with the financial services and capital markets industry group and consumer financial services practice in Washington, D.C.
  • Alexei Cowett has joined McDermott Will & Emery as a partner in the transactions practice group in Washington, D.C.
