- UK law firm CMS has inked a cooperation deal with Sweden’s Wistrand. The firm—which will be rebranded CMS Wistrand when the deal closes next year—has 150 lawyers in Stockholm and Gothenburg. (CMS)
- Reed Smith, Wilson Sonsini, Venable, and Munger, Tolles & Olson are among the 150 firms that made Time Magazine’s inaugural “America’s Top Law Firms” list. The magazine sent out surveys to more than 50,000 lawyers from firms and corporate law offices. (Time)
- Sidley Austin has fired an associate in New York after she published a letter online that criticized law firms like hers for their stances on the Israel-Hamas conflict. Melat Kiros was let go after she refused a request from senior partners to have her letter, posted on Medium, taken down. (Law.com)
- Former Fenwick & West associate and FTX executive Can Sun, who cooperated with the probe that led to Sam Bankman-Fried’s conviction, is teaming up with other former FTX-ers to start a new crypto exchange. The Dubai startup Trek Labs is attempting to sell 10% of the company at a valuation of more than $100 million. (Wall Street Journal)

- Matthew H. Scott has joined Greenspoon Marder as a partner in the land use and zoning practice group in the Downtown Fort Lauderdale, Fla., office.
- Christopher J. Scully has joined Weil Gotshal as a partner with the private funds practice in Washington, D.C. He joins from Kirkland & Ellis.
- James Morgan has joined Kirkland & Ellis as a partner.
- Alex Barnes has joined Trowers & Hamlins as a partner with the tax practice in London.
