- Paul Weiss attorney Karen Dunn has been brought in to assist Vice President Kamala Harris with debate preparation. Dunn, who helped lead the civil case against white supremacist leaders of the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, helped prepare Harris for her 2020 debate against Mike Pence. - Consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal is starting a new international law firm named Broadfield. UK law firm BDB Pitmans plans to join as its first member firm, and Alvarez & Marsal plans to grow the operation to a “significant scale.” (Financial News)
- One-time corporate attorney Darren Walker plans to step down as president of the Ford Foundation at the end of 2025 following what will be a 12-year tenure in the post. “There is no doubt that Henry Ford would be surprised that a Black gay man was president of his his foundation,” he said. - John Vaughan joined Holland & Knight as a partner in their public policy and regulation practice group. He joins from Verily, where he served as interim chief privacy officer.
- Brandon Gantus rejoined Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati as a partner and co-leader of the employee benefits and compensation practice.
- Filippo Crosara joined A&O Shearman as a lender-side leveraged finance partner in the London debt finance practice. He joins from Barclays Investment Bank.
- Thomas Earnest joined Mintz as a partner in their corporate practice in the firm’s San Francisco office.
- Roger Rappoport joined Snell & Wilmer as a partner in the corporate and securities practice group. He joins from Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves, & Savitch.
- Chad Hummel joined McKool Smith as a principal in its Los Angeles office.
