Tivoli Enterprises Hit With Privacy Suit Over Meta Info Sharing

Movie-theater operator Tivoli Enterprises Inc. secretly shared the personal information of its website users with Meta Platforms Inc. without their consent in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act, a proposed federal class action said.

The lawsuit is the latest in a wave of litigation against providers of video content over the use of online tracking tools on their websites. Other movie-theater chains that have been sued under the VPPA include Landmark Theaters, Angelika Film Centers, Cinépolis USA, and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.
