Landmark Theatres Win in Facebook Tracking Class Action Affirmed

Landmark Theatres’ victory in a proposed Video Privacy Protection Act class action was affirmed by a federal appeals court ruling Thursday that the law covers movie rentals, not “a classic in-theater movie-going experience.”

“Transmitting light and sound to patrons” isn’t delivering audio visual materials under the VPPA, Judge M. Margaret McKeown said for the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
