Wake Up Call: Clooney Justice Group Hires Two Lawyers as Co-CEOs

• Warner Bros. Pictures’ former general counsel David Sagal and Emma Lindsay, a former partner with the Withersworldwide law firm, have been named co-CEOs of a foundation run by human rights lawyer Amal Clooney and her husband, movie star George Clooney. Sagal will direct the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s operations, while Lindsay will oversee its justice programs. (Associated Press)
• Clyde & Co. has admitted to anti-money laundering “failures” involving ship purchase deals. The firm and former senior partner Ed Mills-Webb face big fines for not conducting background checks on clients involved with vessel purchaes. (TradeWinds)
• Adobe Inc. General Counsel Dana Rao said the software company filed and issued a record number of patents in 2023, which is “great” because it reflects consistent innovation in the face of tough competition. “We’ve always believed that we’re going to win in the marketplace if we innovate,” he said.
