Univision Now Hit With Suit Over Sharing of Video-Viewing Info

Spanish-language streaming service Univision Now shared information about the video-viewing histories of subscribers with third parties without the users’ consent, in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act, a proposed federal class action said.

The lawsuit is the latest in a recent surge of litigation targeting the use of third-party tracking technology on websites operated by providers of video content. Prominent defendants include NFL Enterprises LLC, Walt Disney Co., and NBCUniversal Media LLC.
