NFL Enterprises Escapes Lawsuit Over Sharing of Video Info

NFL Enterprises LLC defeated a proposed class action alleging it shared information with Facebook about videos watched by website visitors in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.

Plaintiffs Jim Alex, Mark Bowers, Boyce Brown, and others failed to show that they were “consumers” within the meaning of the VPPA when they watched videos on NFL team websites, Judge Andrew L. Carter of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said Wednesday.

Carter dismissed the lawsuit without leave to amend.
