NBCUniversal Media Sued Over Sharing of Video-Viewing Info

NBCUniversal Media LLC and Peacock TV LLC disclosed the video-watching histories of its mobile app users to third parties in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act and New York privacy laws, a proposed federal class action said.

Amma Afriyie and Roy Campbell alleged that the companies integrated software development kits from Adobe Inc. and mParticle Inc. into their mobile apps, allowing the third parties to record information about about videos that users had watched.
