- Daniel Rosen, the Trump administration’s pick to be Minnesota’s US Attorney, has drawn attention for his lack of prosecutorial experience. Unlike his recent predecessors, Rosen, an eminent domain lawyer, has never worked as a prosecutor, marking a notable departure from traditional qualifications for the role. (SC Times)
- Kirkland & Ellis will relocate to a new London office this summer following successive delays. The firm will be the primary tenant of 40 Leadenhall Street, and will occupy more than half of the floors. Kirkland originally announced in 2021 that it had secured a lease to move its London office—comprising over 550 employees—from its current space at 30 St Mary Axe, where it has been based since 2006. - A group of international lawyers filed a formal complaint to FIFA, accusing the organization of failing to enforce its own human rights policy in awarding the 2034 World Cup to Saudi Arabia. The lawyers, who previously offered to advise FIFA on compliance but were ignored, say that FIFA is turning a blind eye to Saudi Arabia’s human rights abuses, including violations of free expression, migrant and women’s rights. - Kelly Brilleaux joined Barnes & Thornburg as a partner in its litigation department in Dallas.
