- The Washington DC Bar Association election is garnering unprecedented attention, with Brad Bondi, the younger brother of Attorney General Pam Bondi, as one of the candidates. The 30,000 people that have already voted in the election are more than triple the previous record set in 1990. (NPR)
- A Canadian judge ordered a lawyer to explain why she should not be tried for “contempt in the face of the court” for using artificial intelligence tools to draft a legal document full of cases that don’t exist. Ontario Superior Court Judge Fred Myers also noticed misreadings of existing cases and suspected AI hallucinations. (NDTV)
- Cooley is celebrating 10 years in London, having opened its office in the city in 2015. The firm also launched a Brussels office in 2019 to further support the needs of its global client base. (Cooley)

Brian Brookey joined Honigman as a partner in its intellectual property litigation practice group in Washington. He joins from Tucker Ellis.
David Monteiro and Kristin Lee joined Sidley Austin as partners in its banking and financial services practice within the M&A and private equity group in Dallas and New York. respectively. They join from Morgan Lewis & Bockius.
Erek Barron joined Mintz as a member in its white collar defense and government investigations practice in Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Barron was the US Attorney for the District of Maryland.
Andrew Gershon and Semhar Woldai joined Kirkland & Ellis as partners in its liquidity solutions practice of the investment funds group. Gershon joins from Debevoise & Plimpton. Woldai joins from Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
