- HSF Kramer replaced Slaughter and May as mining giant BHP’s counsel in the ongoing claim over the collapse of the Mariana Dam in Brazil. Slaughter had been advising BHP throughout the case. HSF Kramer confirmed Alan Watts, head of class actions in UK and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as lead partner. (Law.com)
- White & Case said that it will roll out Legora’s legal AI software across its 43 offices. In addition to the rollout across 29 countries, the firm and Legora said that they will collaborate on new products and solutions, including the recently announced “Legora Portal,” which is designed to improve collaboration between law firms and in-house legal teams. - Yale Law School named Cristina M. Rodríguez to be its new dean, effective Feb. 1. Rodríguez, currently the law school’s deputy dean, becomes second woman to take over the role. She replaces Heather Gerken, who left to become president of the Ford Foundation. (ABA Journal)

- Martin Bruehs joined Baker Botts as a partner in its intellectual property department in Washington. He joins from Sheppard Mullin.
- Taylor Klavan joined Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder in its public finance and infrastructure practice in Houston. She joins from Squire Patton Boggs.
- Erika Barbara rejoined Jackson Lewis as a principal in Sacramento. She joins from the California Chamber of Commerce.
