- Public interest groups are demanding that Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco recuse herself from DOJ’s upcoming decision on whether to charge Boeing Co. with criminal fraud, because she previously represented the aerospace giant while at the policy consulting group WestExec Advisors. "(W)e urge in the strongest terms” that Monaco, a former partner with O’Melveny & Myers, “immediately” be recused from participating in the deliberations, given her personal ties to the company, the groups wrote in a July 2 letter to AG Merrick Garland. - Nixon Peabody next year will be moving from its Rochester, New York office—after 150 years in the city’s downtown—to a space about a third its current size in suburban Victor, NY. “With shifting work dynamics following the pandemic, Nixon Peabody will optimize its new space to provide greater flexibility and adaptability for its people while also requiring a smaller overall footprint than during pre-pandemic times,” the firm said in a statement. - Greenberg Traurig has named Chadi Salloum as head of the firm’s United Arab Emirates corporate practice. Salloum, who has previously worked for Skadden in New York and Akin Gump in UAE capital Abu Dhabi, represents sovereign entities, financial institutions, multinational companies, family businesses, investors and sponsors operating in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the greater Middle East. - Todd Itami has rejoined Covington & Burling as director of artificial intelligence and e-discovery solutions and as of counsel with the firm in Washington.
- Shveta Kakar has joined Fox Rothschild’s corporate department as a partner focusing on nonprofit law in the New York office. She joins from Pryor Cashman.
- Troy Zander and Warren Biro have joined Manatt, Phelps & Phillips as financial services partners with the firm’s San Diego and Los Angeles offices, respectively.
