A Washington high school student sued the state’s Interscholastic Activities Association and several officials after she was allegedly sexually assaulted by a transgender female athlete during a wrestling match.
The WIAA maintains a policy under regulations provided by the state’s superintendent office allowing students to play on sports teams that align with their gender identity in violation of Title IX, the student and her mother, Stephanie Brown, alleged in a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
