LG Again Faces Paxton Data Recording Case Following Texas Refile

LG Electronics USA again faces a lawsuit from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) for recording what TV viewers are watching without their consent.

Paxton’s lawyers re-filed the case on Monday in state district court, 10 days after a different state court denied the state’s request for a temporary restraining order. Paxton non-suited the claim on Dec. 23, typically a sign that a case is gone for good.

Paxton instead shifted the lawsuit to Bell County from Tarrant County, underscoring his enthusiasm in taking on technology giants he says violate the privacy of Texans.
