LG Defeats Texas TV Spying Claims After Paxton Withdraws

LG Electronics USA won’t face a lawsuit from the state of Texas for recording what TV viewers watch without their consent.

Texas abandoned its claims Tuesday, a court filing shows, four days after a judge in the case denied the state’s request for a restraining order.

Texas still has active claims against four other TV-maker defendants: TCL Technology Group North America Inc., Sony Corp. of America, Samsung Electronics America, and Hisense USA Corp.
