Chanel Hits Another E-Commerce Site With a Trademark Lawsuit

Chanel Inc. accused an online retailer of unlawfully selling clothes and accessories falsely bearing the luxury company’s name and insignia.

The trademark infringement lawsuit is one of several the French fashion brand has pursued against retailers over the past year, winning an injunction against an e-commerce fashion site from a federal court in 2023.

Chanel filed a complaint Thursday in the US District Court for the Central District of California bringing trademark infringement and other Lanham Act claims against ShopGabBoutique. The lawsuit also brings claims against unknown “Doe” defendants that Chanel says are “in some manner responsible.”
