Ugg Boots Maker Sues Walmart Over Fluffy Slipper Designs

Deckers Outdoor Corp., the maker of Ugg boots, targeted Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in Los Angeles federal court in its latest intellectual property complaint over its shoe designs.

Deckers told the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Oct. 16 that Walmart infringes trade dress and a design patent covering its Ugg Fluff Yeah Slide slippers. It sued Steve Madden in April for allegedly copying the same design, and has filed dozens of similar complaints against other companies.

The company also targeted Walmart last year for allegedly ripping off its Bailey Button boots.
