Judge Dismisses NFL, DraftKings NFT Suit Following Settlement

A federal New York judge on Tuesday dismissed the National Football League Players Association’s lawsuit accusing DraftKings Inc. of violating a licensing deal to use athletes’ name, image, and likeness to create sports-themed non-fungible tokens.

Judge Analisa Torres ordered dismissal of the suit just one day after the parties asked the US District Court for the Southern District of New York to pause it while they finalized a settlement agreement. The parties must file an application to reopen the case within 30 days if the settlement isn’t consummated, according to the order.
