Florida’s 24-Hour Abortion Waiting Period to Get Another Look (1)

Florida is getting another shot at defending a law requiring women to wait 24 hours after receiving state-mandated information before having an abortion.

A trial court erred when it granted summary judgment holding the law violates the Florida Constitution’s right of privacy in all circumstances, the Florida District Court of Appeal, First District, said Aug. 1. It sent the case back to the trial court for further proceedings.
