Florida’s 24-Hour Abortion Delay Law Blocked

A Florida court has blocked a state law requiring women to wait 24 hours before having an abortion.

The Florida Circuit Court, Leon County, Jan. 9 permanently barred the state from enforcing the law, known as HB 633. ACLU of Florida Legal Director Nany Abudu called the ruling “a win for Florida women.” The forced delay law “imposed medically unnecessary and harmful burdens” on women in the state, she said.
