Trump Administration Must Continue to Recognize TSA Union (1)

The Trump administration must continue to recognize the union representing Transportation Security Administration workers despite Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s claim that an earlier preliminary injunction no longer applies, a federal judge ruled.

Judge Jamal N. Whitehead of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said in a Thursday opinion that the court’s June 2025 injunction blocks the Trump administration from invalidating the TSA workers’ collective bargaining rights.

Noem argued in September that since she had rescinded the policy the court order applied to, she was free to once again terminate the 2024 labor contract.
