Senate Confirms Stalled Pick for Labor Department Hill Liaison

The Senate confirmed Elizabeth Watson to be the U.S. Department of Labor’s liaison to Capitol Hill after taking no action on her nomination last year.

Her nomination was confirmed by a 50-45 vote Wednesday.

Watson, a former senior aide on the House Education and Labor Committee, was nominated in April 2021 to serve as the DOL’s assistant secretary for congressional and intergovernmental affairs. President Joe Biden nominated her again in January 2022 after she failed to see a floor vote last year.
