Meta Platforms Loses Bid to Dismiss Citizenship Bias Case (1)

Meta Platforms Inc. failed to convince a federal judge in San Francisco to dismiss a lawsuit by job applicants who claimed they were passed over in favor of temporary visa holders.

It’s the second time the case has gone before the Northern District of California, which tossed the claims in 2022 upon finding that US citizens can’t bring discrimination claims under Section 1981 of the 1866 Civil Rights Act.
