- Green Bay Packers’ top laywer Ed Policy will take over as the team’s chief executive officer and president next year. Policy, the son of former San Francisco 49ners and Cleveland Browns president Carmen Policy, is set to takeover July 2025, when current Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy reaches the mandatory retirement age of 70. - Dinsmore & Shohl’s Louisville office is partnering with a Kentucky LGBTQ+ coalition to offer free legal assistance to area residents and LGBTQ+ identifying people navigating legal name changes. The firm is collaborating with groups including University of Louisville Lambda Law Caucus and the Louisville Pride Foundation. (Courier Journal)
- Rural Nebraska’s county attorneys and public defenders continue to confront the area’s “legal desert” in its next legislative session. “I haven’t ever received more than 10 applicants for a job in the past 10 years,” said Hall County public defender Gerald Piccolo. (Nebraska Examiner)
Laterals, Moves, In-House
- Glen Lim, Brian Stern, and Daniel Tola—finance lawyers specializing in private credit transactions—have joined the O’Melveny’s Los Angeles and Century City offices as partners in the corporate finance practice. The trio comes from Katten.
- Alex Rovira has joined Troutman Pepper’s New York office as a partner in the firm’s finance and restructuring practice. He joins from Sidley Austin.
- Peter Berg has joined White & Case as a partner in Houston in its global project development and finance practice, global energy industry group, and US construction practice.
- Nathan Mammen has joined the Washington D.C., office of Snell & Wilmer as a partner in the intellectual property group. Previously, was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis.
- Zachary Block has joined Polsinelli as an electrical engineering & computer science patent prosecution shareholder in the St. Louis office.
- Bill O’Neil has been appointed managing partner of Winston & Strawn’s Chicago office.
- William Underwood has been appointed head of Jones Walker’s Atlanta office.
- Kerry Jean Moore will join Michelman & Robinson as its chief growth officer.
