- Kirkland & Ellis axed London deals partner Roger Johnson, reportedly after the law firm learned that he was talking with a rival about a possible job. (FN London)
- Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer is going on offense for Lizzo, after the Grammy-winning performer was sued by three dancers alleging harassment and other claims. Singer, whose client list has included Bill Cosby, John Travolta, and Olympic snowboarder Shaun White, questioned the credibility of one of the dancers after a video was released in which she praised Lizzo. - Philadelphia’s Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis is closing its doors after nearly 90 years. The litigation firm, whose founders include former Pennsylvania Attorney General William Schnader, declined to detail the reasons for its dissolution. “Many” of its 91 lawyers reportedly have landed new jobs. (The Philadelphia Inquirer)
- Harvard Law School’s Laurence Tribe urged a federal judge not to revoke FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried’s bail over leaking information to The New York Times. Tribe works in an of counsel role at Kaplan Hecker & Fink, which represents Bankman-Fried’s father, Joseph Bankman. Tribe says he submitted the court filing independently, as a constitutional law scholar. (Reuters)

- Jim McGovern has joined Vinson & Elkins as a partner in the government investigations and white collar criminal defense practice in New York.
- John G. Hodnette has joined Fox Rothschild’s taxation and wealth planning department as counsel in Charlotte, N.C., the firm said Thursday.
- Zascha Blanco Abbott has joined Kaufman Dolowich as a partner with the labor and employment practice group in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
- Christine De Pree has joined Vedder Price as a shareholder in the firm’s investment services group.
- Andrew Barr has joined Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder with the litigation, aviation, and appeals and legal issues practices in Denver, Colo.
