Jim McGovern has joined Vinson & Elkins as a partner in the government investigations and white collar criminal defense practice in New York, the firm said Monday.
McGovern previously served as chief of the criminal division of the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, where he supervised bank investigations and the Federation Internationale de Football Association prosecutions, according to Vinson & Elkins.
He has defended corporations and individuals in criminal and civil government investigations and litigation, in addition to regulatory compliance, said Vinson & Elkins.
He joins the firm from from Hogan Lovells.
