Michael Bowe, who was part of President Donald Trump’s legal team during Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, is suing his former firm Kasowitz LLP for millions of dollars.
Bowe is suing the firm and its founder, veteran litigator Marc E. Kasowitz, for $4 million, according to a Dec. 26 New York County Supreme Court filing. The lawsuit asserts claims of fraud, breach of contract, and unjust enrichment. The circumstances are unclear.
This suit comes in the wake of another lawsuit also by an ex Kasowitz partner, Eric Herschmann, over unpaid wages that allegedly amounted to millions of dollars, filed earlier this month in New York State Supreme Court. Herschmann alleges mismanagement by the firm’s founder led to plunging profits and growing debt at the firm.
Herschmann and two other ex-Kasowitz partners including former name partner Dan Benson launched a new firm in June that goes by the name Herschmann Benson Bowen.
“This filing was made by a partner who was separated from the firm five years ago. There is no merit to any of his claims, and should he file and serve a complaint, it will be quickly disposed of,” a Kasowitz spokesperson said in a statement. Bowe declined to comment on the matter.
Bowe launched his own impact-focused boutique law firm Brithem LLP in September 2025. Bowe spent two decades at Kasowitz before joining Brown Rudnick in February 2020.
The case is Bowe v. Marc Kasowitz and Kasowitz LLP, N.Y. Sup. Ct. 12/26/25
