TQ Delta Loses Appeal of Findings in $11 Million Patent Verdict

A series of jury decisions resulting in a mixed $11.1 million infringement verdict against modem maker CommScope Holding Co. will stand after the Federal Circuit Friday rejected challenges from an owner of high-speed data-transmission patents.

TQ Delta appealed the federal jury’s findings that CommScope didn’t infringe one of the six patents asserted—US Patent No. 8,090,008. The patent assertion firm also took on the jury’s finding that its US Patent No. 8,462,835 is invalid and sought a new trial on damages awarded based on CommScope’s infringement of four other patents.
