- Hogan Lovells’ mass hire preceded the firm’s dissolution
- Group includes 28 partners in real estate and litigation
Hogan Lovells confirmed the names of 28 partners it will hire from the failed Stroock & Stroock & Lavan firm, and the list includes multiple former heads of practice groups.
Hogan last month announced it would make a mass hire of 30-plus laterals from Stroock, the last straw before the nearly 150-year-old firm announced its plans to dissolve. The total tally appears to be slightly less than that.
The partners joining Hogan include Jeff Keitelman, a former co-managing partner at Stroock who also co-led its real estate practice.
Other former Stroock practice group leaders joining Hogan include Brian Diamond, who co-chaired the real estate group; Joseph Giminaro, who led the tax certiorari practice; Michael Kosmas, who led the hospitality practice; Christopher Doyle, who served as chair of the corporate practice; Richard Madris, who headed the infrastructure funds practice; Jeffrey Uffner, who served as chair of the tax practice; and James Bernard, who served as head of the general litigation practice.
In total, the full list includes 23 former Stroock partners who will join Hogan’s corporate and finance practice and five partners who will join its disputes practice.
“Adding this group from Stroock aligns with our focus on growing in strategic markets such as New York by bringing in high-performing lateral groups who recognize Hogan Lovells as a destination for talent,” Hogan CEO Miguel Zaldivar said in a statement.
