Stroock & Stroock & Lavan will lay off nearly 140 employees in New York in the coming months as the beleaguered law firm begins its wind-down operations.
Manhattan-founded Stroock filed a “Warn Act” notice with the New York Labor Department on Nov. 1 indicating that it plans to let go of 138 employees by Jan. 30, 2024. A Stroock spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the employees impacted by this notice.
