The Boy Scouts of America revised its bankruptcy plan, offering to pay $750 million to settle roughly 84,000 sexual abuse claims.
The proposal, outlined Friday in the third version of the organization’s Chapter 11 plan, could help put an end to a 16-month bankruptcy case that has cost the embattled nonprofit more than $100 million. The most recent restructuring proposal comes as the Boy Scouts is said to be making “substantial progress” towards a consensual resolution with attorneys representing sex abuse survivors.
