MoneyGram to Pay $250,000 in NY Remittance Suit CFPB Left (1)

MoneyGram International Inc. agreed to pay $250,000 to resolve New York state’s claims that it delayed money transfers and didn’t provide accurate consumer disclosures.

The settlement would wrap up litigation filed in April 2022 by New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. But the CFPB voluntarily withdrew from the case in April as part of a broad enforcement pullback under acting Director Russell Vought, a Trump appointee.
