Ex-Interpublic Unit Exec Must Repay $16 Million for Embezzlement

A former chief financial officer at Weber Shandwick must pay the global public relations firm more than $16 million in restitution after pleading guilty to embezzlement-related charges, a federal judge said.

Frank Okunak will start paying the amount while he finishes his four-year prison sentence for embezzling millions while working at the Interpublic Group of Companies subsidiary, Judge P. Kevin Castel of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said in a Thursday order.
