Intel Corp. and VLSI Technology LLC volleyed arguments in a Texas federal courtroom over whether a jury should get to decide if Intel’s covered by a patent license that would negate a $948 million infringement verdict.

The two companies are sparring over whether a 2012 patent licensing agreement between Intel and Fortress Investment Group-owned cybersecurity firm Finjan Inc. included the patent that led to the hefty November 2022 verdict.
