Ex-Defender Appeals Failed Challenge to Courts’ Misconduct Plan

A former federal defender is appealing a court judgment that rejected her claims that judiciary officials mishandled her sexual harassment claim against her supervisor.

Caryn Devins Strickland filed a notice of appeal on Tuesday, a month after that same federal judge denied her motion to reconsider the judgment.

Senior US District Judge William Young in Boston in August found that Strickland failed to prove that her equal protection and due process rights were violated over her report of harassment and retaliation at the public defender’s office in the Western District of North Carolina.
