HP Sheds Suit Over Off-Brand Printer Cartridge Compatibility

HP Inc. beat a proposed class suit alleging it tricked printer owners about the compatibility of third-party ink cartridges, after a California federal court said the plaintiff’s claims fail because he was warned the printers could become inoperable with off-brand ink.

The Tuesday ruling by Judge Edward Davila of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California addressed an amended complaint by John Parziale following an earlier dismissal. This time, the court threw out the suit for good.
