Google and Patent Owner Agree to Resolve Smartwatch Tech Suit

Google LLC and CardiacSense Ltd. agreed to end their dispute concerning technology used in Fitbit and Pixel fitness watches.

The court granted the companies’ joint motion to dismiss Google’s lawsuit seeking declaratory judgment for noninfringement, according to an order filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Google and CardiacSense said each party will bear its own costs and expenses.

The action ends the latest in a series of disputes between the two companies. Google filed its July suit after CardiacSense voluntarily dismissed a Texas lawsuit accusing the tech giant of patent infringement in April. ...
