Corning’s Patent-Harassment Suit Against Rival Moves Forward

A Minnesota judge handed a series of wins to Corning Inc. in its long-running patent battle with Wilson Wolf Manufacturing Corp. over cell-culture vessel technology.

Corning’s tortious interference claims alleging Wilson Wolf filed baseless patent suits against Corning customers, can move forward, Judge Donovan W. Frank of the US District Court for the District of Minnesota ruled Wednesday. Frank also granted Corning summary judgment finding one of the three patents involved in the case to be invalid while dismissing, for now, Corning’s push to have the other two patents deemed unenforceable.
