Precision Castparts Wins Some Costs After Beating Investor Suit

Precision Castparts Corp. will get just under $100,000 in costs—about $240,000 less than it sought—after defeating allegations it misled investors as to some earnings statements, a federal judge in Oregon ruled.

Investors didn’t identify any compelling reasons to deny the industrial manufacturing firm’s bill of costs in its entirety, the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon said. Precision Castparts won summary judgment in May after filing a motion for reconsideration.

The company sought more than $75,500 for depositions and court transcripts, more than $264,000 for reproduction charges, and just $41 in witness fees, Magistrate Judge Stacie F. ...
