Precision Castparts Beats Investor Suit After Judge Reconsiders

Precision Castparts Corp. is free of allegations it misled investors as to some earnings statements after it convinced a federal magistrate judge in Oregon that a new Ninth Circuit ruling required her to revisit an earlier decision and find for the company.

The industrial manufacturing firm secured an early partial win in July 2020 and asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon to take another look at the portions of the opinion where it sided with the investors. Magistrate Judge Stacie F. Beckerman entered summary judgment for the company “on all remaining counts” after reconsidering the opinion. ...
