GrafTech Investors Release Brass from Green Compliance Suits

GrafTech International Ltd. shareholders agreed to drop lawsuits against certain directors, executives, and affiliates that alleged they boasted the company’s environmental compliance while it polluted neighborhoods near its facility in Mexico.

Giulia Carponi, Lawrence B. Hollin, and Steven Simons told the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio on Sept. 26 that they would each drop their shareholder derivative actions after meeting with various defendants, including retired CEO David Rintoul and a major stockholder Brookfield Capital Partners Ltd.
