Gogo Inc. investors won final approval of a $17.3 million settlement resolving claims the company misled them about problems with its in-flight Wi-Fi products.
Judge Jorge Alonso in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois granted final approval to the settlement at a hearing, according to a Wednesday docket entry. Attorneys representing the plaintiffs have called the deal an “excellent result.”
Investors accused Gogo of making misleading statements about its antenna-and-satellite-based in-flight Wi-Fi system and concealing that the system sometimes didn’t work after airplanes had been sprayed with de-icing fluid.
