Door Price-Fixing Case Ends With $20 Million Settlement Approval

Antitrust litigation over an alleged price-fixing scheme by door makers Jeld-Wen Inc. and Masonite Corp. ended, while a securities lawsuit against Jeld-Wen and parent Onex Corp. crept closer to a conclusion, when a federal judge in Virginia approved settlements in both cases.

Judge John A. Gibney Jr. signed off late Tuesday on a $19.5 million antitrust deal with “indirect” door buyers like homeowners, seven weeks after approving a $61.6 million agreement with “direct” purchasers bringing parallel claims in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
